The parish, like the whole Church, is above all the Body of Christ. The people united in the parish set themselves the main task - joining the Kingdom of God together. Since the parish, like the whole Church, personifies the unceasingly continuing life of Christ in the world, the Christian community, the Orthodox Church is already the beginning of the Kingdom of God on earth.
